Return to the ashen fields

The wind blows. The ashen dust covers my face. As I kneel and watch the fine grains fall out in a stream from my fist in which I gathered them. The vast emptiness surrounds me. Empty. Nothing. Blank. Void, "Rub - al - Khali -- the empty quarter" Ashen sky , ashen ground, heart of stone ... forged in fire. Covered in beauty. Smattered with debauchery. Shining with light. Resonating in the darkness. Fragrant with love , reeking with hatred. Lost. Found. Broken. Made. Adorned with hope. Embellished with faith. Cast in belief. Drenched in apathy.

Death ? Another event on the road.

I have been here. I have walked this place. I was alone then. I still am. My footsteps have been covered in the dust. And that in turn blown away. Like the millions before me. And the millions yet to come. They've come. They've gone. They'll keep coming.

I know. I thought I knew back then. Now I am. They don't. They aren't. You don't. Are you ?

Promises ? The road promises to take you somewhere. But does it ?

Attachments ? The places you've rested on the road. Some places, you've slept. You thought you belonged there. When you woke up ... what did you see ? The road goes ever on.
Freedom ? It's just some people talking. Your prison is walking through this world all alone.

I was born with a promise. They said, "A promise lives withing you now. " "You walk a lonely road." Oh how far am I from home ? Mornie Alantie - darkness has come. Do you only see with your eyes ? How blind are you ?

I am Sojourner. This is My Sojourn . They have just lost their way. They'll find it. If they try. The signboards have always been there. From the beginning of time. They can see with their eyes. Yes. They're blind. Ramble On. I have lost my way many times. You've read about my ramblings. You've read about the Rain. It's been two years. But , just - years. I've found my way again. Even if I lose my way again, it won't matter. I know where I'm headed.

Yes. I believe the road leads us somewhere. Leads us back to where we started. Where it all began. The return to innocence. A full circle. Nothing is everything. Everything is nothing. You shall have known it all - love , glory, joy, eternal bliss, Heaven, Faith, God. It IS why we're here.

Will you walk with me?

Undisputed Champs!!!

WE WON THE SCHOOL ROCK!!! NOW WE ARE THE UNDISPUTED CHAMPIONS OF KOLKATA!!

We are officially the best school band in Kolkata and we've managed to keep the legacy of the Xaverian band since Wayne and Vishal, only too well!! What's more, we even beat others by a huge margin!!
It was a huge crowd in Don Bosco grounds, and a s usual Xavier's came with a huge contingent to cheer!! That's us for you!

We came face to face with Fossils and Aasma, and saw them perform also, up close. Fossils are true rockers, but they should refrain from doing english covers. And Aasma, well, they were our judges after all!! ;-D

PS:- We played Stairway to Heaven, (after I picked up the flute part) and man, did it sound good with Moinak and Mark!!!

Photo shoot with Aasma.

We had a photo shoot with Aasma at Hotel Hindustan International. (PS:- Asma is also my ammu's name, I'll sue them for copyright). It was so dumb. They expected us to mob them, but we didn't even look at them. It was they who asked us stuff. The guys are sick and the girls are dumb. VJ Shruti was also there, Dev called her sandpaper face.

Why does it always rain on me?!! and Rono's B'day.

No but this is serious!!!! It rained before I went to Darjeeling , It rained all the time in Darjeeling, and now AGAIN it's raining SO HARD that it's FLOODING Kolkata!!!
But I love it when it rains, It brings me good luck!! The lockgates of God's mercy seem to have burst.

Anyway, it was Rono's B'day today at CC&FC . I've never had so much meat in my life!! We had fish fry, chilly beef, beef kabab, chicken reshmi kabab, malai kabab, mutton burra kabab. Whew, that was about 1.5 kgs of pure meat!! Rounak Das beat that!! Better keep the lax ready! ;-D

What indignation!!!

This is the last straw!!! Today we performed for the first time in school and we had guitars switched off, no mics and we we're allowed to play only ONE SONG!!! And we sounded horrible!! The people will think that this is the band that wins so many accolades!!! I mean come on, even La Martiniere didn't do this to us!!

Therefore as a mark of protest, we refused to play again for the VI, VII and VIIIs, and probably will not play for our farewell too.

The Prelims!!

We qualified for the prelims of Times Of India School Rock!!! And would you believe it, we were the ones with the highest marks, an unofficial first!!! Now we get to perform with 4 other qualifiers viz. St. James, CA School Salt Lake, GD Birla, AG Tollygunge. Unfortunately, Don Bosco and La Martiniere Boys could n't make it inspite of being good. (We'll miss our "pals" !
;-D).
We played "Livin' a lie" , Vishal's composition and the unofficial Xaverian anthem, this time with the bridge!!

PS:- They took our photo for the front page of Champ, theit School paper, but I just left 5 minutes before!!! DAMN!

I (we) am (are) back!!!

I returned from Darjeeling only yesterday. Some papers have been given out inschool, while some have not. Dev, my band's drummer, told me that we have been asked to play in the Times Of India School Rock fest. On top of that, we'll have to perform in school for teacher's day, the belated celebrations of which are being held on the 6th. Here we go again, the SXC band is back!!!
